RECLAIM/RECLAMA LIVE

The Sexual Assault Resource Center of Oregon invites you to join us for the second annual Reclaim/Reclama LIVE on Wednesday, April 9th from 5:30-8:00pm at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Nature Center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Reclaim/Reclama LIVE showcases powerful performances and presentations across diverse art forms by individuals impacted by sexual violence. From spoken word and music to short film, dance, comedy, and beyond, the event amplifies survivor voices through creative expression. A Survivor Speaker panel will also be featured, offering a space for shared experiences and resilience.

This year’s theme is Joyful Resistance. As people impacted by sexual violence, we embrace the power of joy as an act of resistance. We resist apathy, defeat, and the theft of our bodily autonomy and futures. Together, we joyfully reclaim community, resilience, solidarity, and healing. We choose connection and hope and defy shame, silence, and isolation. By resisting toxic societal norms, we support a collective future where everyone is free to pursue the joy that gives their life meaning. Reclaim/Reclama is dedicated to empowering survivors, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering healing through art and advocacy.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5:30pm to enjoy the Art Walk highlighting the 2025 Reclaim/Reclama magazine artists as well as the Voices of Hope Art Gallery, sponsored by the Family Justice Center of Washington County. We look forward to bringing together members of our community to uplift the voices of survivors of sexual violence through art.
