SARC no longer offers internships or field placements for counseling, clinical mental health, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or other psychotherapy-focused programs that require clinical supervision.
SARC offers internship and college field placement opportunities on a limited basis, depending on organizational needs, available projects, supervision capacity, and the educational requirements of the student’s academic program. To ensure a meaningful experience for both the student and SARC, placements must be a minimum of two academic semesters or one full academic year.
Potential internship opportunities may be available in areas such as public health, social work, nonprofit management and leadership, fundraising and development, communications, marketing, community engagement, volunteer management, operations, and education and training initiatives.
Students participating in SARC’s Education & Training Program may assist with community outreach, public education, professional training, awareness campaigns, resource development, and other projects that help increase community knowledge about sexual violence, survivor support, and the social conditions that contribute to violence. Depending on organizational needs, students may also support program development, evaluation, data collection, community partnerships, fundraising efforts, communications, and other nonprofit operations.
All placements are contingent upon SARC’s ability to meet the supervision requirements established by the student’s educational institution.
Contact volunteer@sarcoregon.org for further information or so inquire about an internship opportunity.
All background check requirements, 40+ Hour Core Advocacy Training, and volunteer application and interview processes apply.
