At SARC, we believe healing is something that no one should have to face alone. Survivors often find strength and comfort in connecting with others who have shared similar experiences. That is why SARC is committed to building peer support groups and skill building workshops where survivors can come together in safe, supportive, and empowering spaces.
What Groups & Workshops Offer
Our groups and workshops are designed to:
- Create a safe, respectful environment where survivors are heard and believed.
- Build community and connection through shared experiences.
- Provide tools, resources, and practices that support resilience and healing.
- Honor the diversity of survivors’ experiences and identities.
Our Approach
These groups will be primarily peer-led, meaning they are guided by trained advocates who share lived experiences of survivorship and not by licensed mental health clinicians. We believe this approach creates deeper connection, validation, and trust. Our workshops will also explore creative and practical ways of healing, such as art, movement, and storytelling.
Current Status
SARC is committed to offering safe, supportive spaces where survivors and the community can connect, share, and heal together.
Groups are offered as capacity and resources allow, including peer-led support groups and arts-and-movement-based workshops. We will offer therapeutic processing groups from time to time.
Please see below for information on current scheduled groups and workshops, or call our 24-Hour Support & Resource Line for more information: (503) 640-5311. Our confidential advocates can provide emotional support, information, and referrals to community partners who offer counseling and groups.
Also, the Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) of Lane County, offers multiple support groups via Zoom and the participant is not required to live in Eugene or Lane County. Check SASS’s website for further information and updates.
